Stop feeling sorry for yourself. There is no good that can come from that. For the most part, the choices that we have made led us to this point in our lives, whether it is good or bad. And the choices that we make from this point on will lead us to either a place of happiness or another place filled with stress. Life is made up of choices. If we choose to live on purpose, rather than believe that things simply happen to us, we will be more intentional with the things that we say, think, do, eat, wear, watch, listen to, etc.
It is wise to take responsibility for where we are in our lives. It is also wise to devote time to self-improvement. Surround yourself with positive people, music, movies, and other things that will raise your spirits. Keep a gratitude journal to remind yourself of all of the great things that are going right in your life. The more you give thanks, the more you will realize you have to give thanks for.
